Project working approach

Pre-start information

Before mobilisation, project teams should confirm drawings, quantities, access conditions, material responsibility and interfaces with other contractors. The site location, work boundaries and expected start period should be clear enough for the requested service to be reviewed.

Inspection points, testing responsibility, reporting requirements and handover records should also be defined. Website service descriptions provide general scope information; they do not replace the documents agreed for an individual project.

Execution and reporting

During execution, completed quantities, site constraints, pending approvals and scope changes should be recorded against the agreed programme. Changes after scope agreement should be documented against the relevant work package so project and commercial responsibilities remain clear.

Work sequencing may depend on access, approved drawings, supplied materials and interfaces with other trades. These conditions should be reviewed for the actual site rather than assumed from previous work or a general service description.

Testing and handover

Inspection, testing, snag closure and handover documentation requirements should be confirmed before work starts. The applicable checks depend on the contracted scope. Electrical work may require continuity, insulation resistance and polarity checks, while civil or erection packages require the inspection records defined in the project documents.
